The entire Sony Xperia Z-Series Gets Android 5.1 Lollipop

If you have a Sony Xperia smartphone in the Z series, is the latest Android version 5.1 Lollipop, very soon ready for you.

Sony is in full swing with that update their smartphones in Xperia Z series, which over the past three months has been sent software updates for Android 5.0 Lollipop out of a large part of the Xperia Z-series.

Sony can now once again delight all owners of a smartphone in Xperia Z-series with the latest software from Google. In an official blog post tells Sony, that all these smartphones starting from July, so for about three weeks, get the update to Android 5.1.

List of Xperia smartphones into Z-series are gradually times long and includes the following smartphones:

  • Xperia Tablet Z
  • Xperia Z
  • Xperia Z Ultra
  • Xperia Z Ultra Google Play Edition
  • Xperia Z1
  • Xperia Z1 Compact
  • Xperia Z1S
  • Xperia Z2
  • Xperia Z2 Tablet
  • Xperia Z3
  • Xperia Z3 +
  • Xperia Z3 Compact
  • Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact
  • Xperia Z3v
  • Xperia Z4
  • Xperia Z4 Tablet

Also updates the Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3

In addition to the many smartphones in Xperia Z series, Sony welcome also the owners of the other two smartphones, Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3.

The two will receive the update at the same time with all the others, which therefore is from July of, but at the same time also tells that the timing and availability may vary by country and telecommunications company.

Xperia T2 Ultra was not otherwise scheduled to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop for the first announcements from Sony back to the month of March, but has since changed it.

What’s new in Android 5.1 Lollipop

In version 5.1 Lollipop of Android is that primarily focus on correcting several errors that came with in the past and major update to version 5.0.

Google tried, among other things, to correct a so-called “memory leak”-error that causes the system to accumulate large amounts of RAM/memory. It dulls the phone lowered until restarted, but it had to make up with Lollipop 5.1 Android.
